Book #5 – Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

The majority of my books are non-fictions but from time to time I try to mix it up with fiction books. It is a good way to find inspirations, enhance your imagination and give your mind a rest from the busy buzz of the real world!

So I recently watched a movie in the cinema couple of weeks back and saw the trailer for the movie ” House for Peculiar Children” where my friend and I was like “I’d watch that.”. Without knowing that, I had the book at home!! (bought it weeks back when there was an offer at Dymocks). Immediately I decided to read it before the movie comes out! I believe that if I watch it before I read the book, I will feel very unmotivated to read it. And so I did! And I FELL IN LOVE.

It gave me that “Harry Potter” vibe, the feeling of adventure, mystery, romance & exploration. That child-like curiosity and love. (Note: I never read Harry Potter, but watched the whole movie series) Hence why I feel excited very excited being able to read it first before the movie comes out ( I am now a loyal fan ) haha!

I cannot recommend this book more!! So if you are looking for a new series to read, check out this one! One of the things I really like about this book is the way  Mr. Riggs incorporative pictures & images throughout the book, to give visual characterization to the characters. It made it more alive and easier to digest! + + + + + + there are two other sequels :’) ( I JUST BOUGHT THEM CANT WAIT)

So below is a synopsis of the book : )

A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive. (Goodreads)
