Word #1 – Perseverance

Perseverance- persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.

Perseverance….. Perseverance…..As much as how beautiful life can be, there are times where it will decide to give you hurdles and obstacles. These hurdles sometimes can be easily overcome and win against, sometimes it will take a long ass period, and all you can do is to persevere. It will be physically, mentally, and spiritually exhausting, and there’s no denying about that. That’s why the word perseverance has been a word that I grew to like and chose to live by.

Personally, I grew up in a pretty easy life, where I was provided with enough but not a lot. It’s not until I went to Australia, where I realized the big social gap between the people I met and me, and the big mentality difference my mother have, compare to the parents my friends have. The majority of my friends were supported holistically by their parents, where I receive the opposite. And as I journey through adulthood, I experience dramas, emotions and tragedy that I never felt before. They hit you like a ferry, painful, devastating and like the whole world is against you. But I believe at those times we discover and find the quality and values we desire and adore the most, and for myself throughout my journey the word “Perseverance, Tenacity and Grit” are the ones that amplified to me.

Life will give you the shits, pain, and hopelessness, at the same time, it will give you joy, love, opportunity, and adrenaline. And often we don’t know which end of the stick we are currently crossing. This is why Perseverance is a quality that is so important, and I believe a quality that everyone should develop and many successful people have. The ability to stand up when you are down low, to cross a broken bridge, go against the odd and be different when people tell you, you shouldn’t, is a mentality that is so rich and powerful. However, we cannot always maintain this mentality, there are times where emotions will take over, or the world will go against and bent your will, but that’s OK, that is normal. Go down that day but don’t drown in misery, make sure to recover and get that mental game up again and persevere again. Again… and again… Use whatever you need to use, do what you need to do, but never ever give up.

Thank you!

I hope you guys are all doing well! I was planning to start this series a while ago, where I will pick a word (or phrase) and explain why they mean to me and share a personal story, experiences and encounters with it. I guess this is an another way for me to express myself (or rant), encourage people and just give a piece off my brain to the world. So yeh, I hope you all enjoy this, and I hope you are all doing well and pushing hard this year. We are almost at the end of 2015 again. Be strong, be fearless, fall and make mistakes. But most importantly PERSEVERE.

Lab you all

For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. – Proverbs 24:16

The will to persevere is often the difference between failure and success. -David Sarnoff
